As people that train in the warrior arts we have a different perspective (or at least we should) from the non-enlightened. We train, analyze and prepare to escalate viable responses to ever present threats. Whether we like it or not we are sheepdogs that play our role in protecting the masses. Not out of choice or obligation, but because of the path we follow. We have chosen to humbly submit ourselves before the grand architect and acknowledge our frailty, our failings and our short comings and are earnest in our desire to protect and improve on what he has created through our various disciplines. So we prepare for war. Wars that are to be waged on many different battle fronts. On this path, we find ourselves interacting on a daily basis with the negativity that comes from those without hope, battling the ease with which minutes tick away as we lethargically sit transfixed by technology (tv, internet, video game), find ourselves in circles of friends and associates without goals and desires, and seeing a generation raised by a generation without the correct perspective on being thankful for where we are and what we have (even when it isn’t much). In these darkest days, be the light my friends.
